Going home and also coming back we went through Yellowstone.

Cars were stopped around a group of bears.  This bear ambled over to see if he could get a handout.

We couldn't figure out what the white thing on his head was.

Yep, that's popcorn on his head.

One passenger in the car rolled down the window  just barely and poked through a bit of bread and yelled.  He thought the bear almost had his hand.  The bear really did want a handout.

One doesn't see bears in Yellowstone anymore.

Look at those classic cars.

This bear had two cubs.  I got too close to a cub and  the mother bear charged me.  I backpedaled and just when I thought I was going to be bitten, she turned and saw the other twin cub was too close to someone else, and she charged in that direction.

I had a couple of much closer calls with bears in the Kootenai Forest.

More Yellowstone. Mont-131-7x10.jpg (53196 bytes)
It was pretty chilly with Yellowstone's high altitude. Mont-130-7x10.jpg (54223 bytes)

Traveling south, we passed by the Grand Tetons in late evening. Mont-135-7x10.jpg (49765 bytes)
After driving all night, we stopped in Dodge City at "Boothill".  I was looking for the real Boothill Cemetery, but this was just a tourist trap.

I rested for a few moments in the "cemetery".
