Woody in the Kootenai or "Woody's ancient 35mm slides live again!"
Lots of pretty scenery in
southeast Idaho. Altitude makes for bluer skies.
Somewhere in southeast
Idaho, not too far from the Tetons. In the distance is probably
the foothills of the Tetons.
Near same picture above.
We were held up in a
traffic jam for a while.
North of Salt Lake City,
Utah. "World's Largest Station" deserved a picture, so
... I took one.
We tried to find the Salt Lake very late at night and drove
all over west of Salt Lake City. Couldn't find the lake. So we
pulled off the road where there was nothing and slept all night.
Next morning, I awakened to
a blue sky and, from my prone position in the front seat of the car, I could see sea gulls flying
around, and hear them. I raised up and
discovered we were on the beach of the Salt Lake!!! If we had
driven a few feet further we'd have been in the water.
Vern and I were
determined to experience the unusual flotation features of the Salt
Lake.
We found a beach house
and went into the lake for a float.
That's Vern's back side.
They had a free outdoor
shower to wash off the salt.
Vern is the guy on left in the shower.
Can't see the encrusted
salt on me very well, but it was there.
I spent all summer growing a 3/4 inch goatee, and it's barely
visible here.
